My Stylish Chicken Coop

This summer, one of my projects has been to make a chicken coop. I had a kids play house that the kids weren't playing in anymore and insulated it, added some walls, and a vinyl floor, then moved a pen for scratching over behind it and TaaDaa! A Chicken House.

What not to do when you live in the wild.

I learned the hard way that hammocks in trees are a NO-No when you live by moose and deer. Now you must know by now that I think of the wild animals as my pets and friends, so I was horrified to see that a moose had come into our yard while we were away, no doubt trying to find something he could scratch his head and neck against, as they have done for years with our hammocks, until now. The 4 or 5 year old moose got his neck stuck in the hammock and wrapped it around his neck so tight that it strangled him. I was so sad, he was a beautiful animal.

Wait There's More...

For some reason my blog area wouldn't let me keep posting, so I'll have to finish my catching up here too. Scroll down for more Yeaman highlights. Jesse has field day at school....
Jesse graduates from kindergarten, here he is with his teachers Miss Roberts and Miss Natalia. This is our Father's Day picture, by the time I got around to taking the picture, the teenagers had gone to bed and the little ones were holding out, we tried.
Last week was Webleos camp. We had off again, on again rain. My little Webelos had a great time and even got their Aquanaut activity badge even though it was cold in the pool that day. Then we went to Grandma Loreens work party and helped her make cotton candy and had a fun time getting sticky and watching how big the cotton candy could get!
That's about it on the catching up. July is almost here and it will be busy with hay cutting, 4th of July, summer classes for the kids, and a big garage sale where I'm hoping to get rid of all my junk! It'll be on July 11th if anyone wants to spend their dollars!

I'm Signing in and Catching Up!

Oh my gosh time flies by! Here's an update on the Yeamans' highlights In May I got to go to Woodbadge! I loved it, and this is my patrol. We worked well together and had a blast.
Jesse had a field trip to This is the Place Monument Park, he got very excited and loved/hated that the little calf licked him everytime he put his hand out.
jpg I have an Eagle Court of Honor, and since Porter and I are both deck out in uniform I make him take a picture with me. Juliann got a new haircut, I like this one!
Tanner gets in trouble for derogatory talk and gets to write a paper on it. Ya gotta love discipline!
Jesse grows a bean in school and is proud-proud-proud!

Happy Birthday to my Two!

I've had two children with birthdays this month. First was Tanner's and he turned 15 years old. He's doing well in school, and is interested in psychology ( I hope he stays interested, he can tell us whats wrong with us.)

Then it was Gentry's 4th birthday the week after Tanners. We took her to the children's museum at the Gateway and she had a great time running around in that place. It's the perfect spot to take 2 to 8 year olds. They stay busy, busy, busy!

Happy Birthday Kids!

Spring Fever

In the five days of Spring-like weather we had (between two blizzards) I got antsy to change a few things about my pad, crib, or bunkhouse, which ever you prefer. First, it was my laundry room. Here is the before...very boring.
Now here is the after....

Ahhh, much better. I can hardly wait to go in there and spend some time doing laundry. What a pick-me-up. Now for all my thrifty family members who will get a kick out of this, I bought this wallpaper and border at the D.I. for $4.00. Woo-ho!

Juliann Takes the Crown

For the Young Womens activity this week the Mia-Maids decided to run a modesty contest. The girls were asked to wear modest dresses that they could wear to a prom, show a talent, and answer a question. Juliann's question was "what advice would you give about modest dressing to a new girl coming into Beehives?" It took about five minutes to answer this, but basically she said "don't dress like the girls in school are dressing". We have around 75 young ladies in our young womans group with each one and her parents there. The parents and advisors got to vote on who the winner was. They started announcing the runners up and then got to the queen and Juliann won it! I was so proud!

Yes! Winter Break

Last week was Park City's winter break. We took the family to southern California for some sunlight therapy. While there, we visited Universal Studios and Sea World. The kids loved it. Jesse, our 6 year old is now tall enough to go on all the rides, and boy did he take advantage of that! I'm so glad that February is almost over and March will bring more melting of snow and more sunshine.
This is Juliann (with her hands up) Jesse and Porter coming down the Jurassic Park ride.

This is David, Jesse and Gentry watching the penguins get fed their breakfast.

Mom and Pop in the hotel jacuzi.

You didn't think I'd forget Shamu, did you?

Awww, a new look.

I'm sure you were all wondering when I might get around to changing the look of my blog. I know I was getting bored with the same old look. Well, I've tried twice to get on the "cutest blog on the block" to change my background and both times they have been updating they're web site. But not today. I snuck in and got it done!

FACEBOOK

I love Facebook. I've gotten in touch this week with a lot of my cousins. Some I haven't talked to in years. Family is great and I love how we can stick together even when we haven't been together in quit a while. It's time for a family reunion!

Gosh! It was a good Christmas.

Christmas this year was a very relaxing day. The kids got fun toys to play with, we watched movies, it was snowing and we didn't even bother to remove the snow on the driveway. I don't believe anyone got out of they're pajamas either! I know I didn't.

Happy New year to all.
