I Don't Know How Miss Roberts Does It
Well, my first whole week back to school is over, and everyday after school I was ready for a nap, or chocolate, usually both! I don't know how regular teachers keep up with the kids like they do. Its exhausting! Jesse had some good days this week, so hopefully it won't take him too much longer to get the hang of it.

I Have to go Back?!!!

My cute little Kindergartner, Jesse, is having a major hard time in school. He doesn't want to follow directions, kicks and screams and is now throwing things at all who happen to be in the path. I've been working everyday with the Principle, Teachers, Special Eds. and Counselors. He hasn't made it through one day of school yet were they haven't called me to come and pick him up early. Well, now they've asked me to come back and go the Kindergarten with him to see if I can get him to have good days at school and set some "boundaries" or "rules". So tomorrow I'll be wearing my comfy pants 'cause I'll be on the floor a lot. Do a little coloring and reading, and hopefully if we're lucky no butt beating.

Does This Ever Happen To You?

Today I had BIG plans. I was in charge of the Court of Honor for the Boy Scouts and at the end of summer, when the Scout leaders have had camps, over nighters, and many other chances to be with a lot of boys other than their own, I decide that it's time for a thank-you!
So, I went to the store and picked out 14 or so perfect green apples, came home and cut the sticks, and started cooking up a large batch of caramel to dip the apples in.
Everything was going great.....I thought. First I dipped the caramel, then coated the bottoms in nuts, then dripped a layer of chocolate on top of that....they are beautiful. I am thinking the men will love them, it's the perfect treat!
Now it's time for me to take a test sample....hmmm I can't quit cut through the caramel, so I take out a bigger knife and finally get though it. I've made a nice hard caramel candy that is so brittle it breaks when you cut it, or sticks to your teeth so completely you can't open your choppers until it's thoroughly sucked off.
Next idea....quickly make caramel popcorn for the guys, which turned out fine.

This last Sunday I decided we were having family time whether we liked it or not. As soon as we got home from church, I started cooking. I made chicken and stuffing, baked beans, and Juliann made a big pan of brownies. We got in the Suburban and headed up to Mirror Lake in the High Unitas for a pic-nic. The kids were teasing and shrieking so we cut our destination in half and made it to Provo River Falls. It was beautiful there and the water was freezing.
Gentry was the only one with sense (OOPS) I mean nerve endings that couldn't take the cold and avoided the whole process of getting wet. We had a nice lunch and the kids ended up mostly soaked.
As I was sitting there taking pictures of the kids, Porter, my adorable 16 year old, threw a large rock at Tanner to make a big splash at him. Well, he missed and got me. One half of my entire body was soaked, including my hair. So one side of my hair was Sunday poofy and one side was smashed flat and dripping with water. I was a lovely site. Thank you Porter.
